Facebook Advertising…Why do it?
Magnets USA® has launched a Facebook Page…yay! It will be updated each month with a new discount and with new banners. We hope not only to reach a younger audience, but also to grab any realtor’s or pizza people that have joined facebook as well. It is also our hope to get our name out there. To show the world (well, 175 million users) on Facebook who we are and what we can do for them!
Facebook is a social networking site. It’s free and easy to use. Recently Facebook added Facebook pages for business, products, brands, music, etc. Companies can really benefit from Facebook Pages because of the reach the pages have and what can be done on a page.
A business Facebook Page allows you to include your logo, address, phone number and website. Photos, videos, a section for reviews, a notes section, the Wall, a discussion section, and then, of course, there are all the 1000’s of applications that you can add to your page. A page can be very simple and have no other applications and just feature information about your company. Or, it can be very elaborate and you can add several applications that will enhance your page.
Some examples of those applications are FBML, which is Facebook HTML. Essentially it’s HTML. It allows you to add HTML or FBML to your site; we used it to add banners to our page. You can also add Flash, which will allow for Flash banners, or Flash video. These are two huge applications that should be added if you want to enhance your site professionally. Then, of course, there are fun and less business like applications that can be included like polls, my calendar or games.
Facebook reaches over 175 million people and its still growing. A large majority of its users are students in high school, college and graduate school. But since its expansion, it includes a large diverse age population. Facebook is a unique and incredible way to reach all ages in different ways.
